Reports say Venezuelan opposition figure and peace prize winner María Corina Machado escaped the country in a covert night operation, using a disguise and false identity to evade security forces.

She allegedly passed through multiple checkpoints before reaching the coast, where she travelled by boat to Curaçao and later flew abroad, ending months of hiding under President Nicolás Maduro’s government.
