Bevan van Druten, accused of murdering former Plettenberg Bay detective Anneke “Nicky” van Heerden, may be sent to Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital for observation, according to court reporting.

The state has argued he could pose a risk and may interfere with witnesses if released. A district surgeon affidavit was submitted, and the defence sought time to take instructions as the court considers the request.
