Police say arrests are close after identifying three suspects linked to the Saulsville mass shooting that killed 12 people and injured 13 at an illegal tavern near Pretoria over the weekend. National Commissioner Fannie Masemola confirmed one suspect is a recently released parolee.

Investigators are analysing ballistic evidence and pursuing strong leads as they build the case. Masemola has pledged tighter enforcement against illegal taverns, which authorities warn remain hotspots for violent crime.
