Undocumented Zimbabwean Arrested With 582 Passports In Mpumalanga

A 43-year-old undocumented Zimbabwean man was arrested near Emgwenya after police uncovered 582 passports and about R147 300 in cash hidden in a bakkie. The documents belonged to Malawian, Zimbabwean, and Mozambican nationals, many with money tucked inside.

Police believe the haul was tied to an illegal passport stamping scheme involving bribes to border officials. The suspect faces charges including fraud, money laundering, and violating the Immigration Act.
