Frans Cronje and Richard Tren discuss whether the Iran war may be nearing an end, why any deal would require US sanctions relief and firm Iranian guarantees, and how the conflict exposed Tehran’s weakness.
9 minIn this clip, Richard Tren and Frans Cronje discuss the current state of the war in Iran and whether there may be an end in sight. Frans begins by discussing how The Common Sense's special report has provided two scenarios, which seem the likeliest way the war shall end. Both of those scenarios will see the United States (US) compromise on some of its worst economic sanctions but the Iranian regime will need to provide a solid guarantee that it will not try to revive its nuclear programme and also that it will need to stop its constant attempts to undermine the US and Israel. Once Frans lays out these scenarios, Richard points out how devastated the Iranian regime has been in this war. He goes further to say that this war has proven that the Iranian "tiger" was far more toothless than any Western analysts had thought.
