The National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has secured a conviction against a KwaZulu-Natal dog breeder following a four-year legal battle. The Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court found the breeder guilty of animal cruelty involving multiple dogs kept in neglectful conditions.

The NSPCA said the case began after a 2022 inspection. The court imposed a fine and a suspended prison sentence.
