A 35-year-old man is set to appear in the Atlantis Magistrate’s Court after being charged with the alleged murder of his 67-year-old mother-in-law in Atlantis, Western Cape. Police say the woman was fatally attacked with an axe at a residence in Avondale.

The suspect was arrested earlier this week and is reportedly receiving medical treatment. Authorities have not confirmed a motive as investigations into the incident continue.
