Starting next week, Australia will implement one of the world’s toughest social media bans, prohibiting individuals under 16 from using major platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Companies will face fines of up to A$49.5 million (about R550 million) if they fail to remove accounts.

The new law aims to protect children from online risks but may push them towards less-regulated platforms.
