A 14-year-old boy is being sought by Eastern Cape police after allegedly shooting and killing an 11-year-old with his father’s homemade gun at a homestead in Mqanduli, about 30km from Mthatha. The younger boy was found dead inside a house on Wednesday morning.

Police say the teen used a loaded homemade firearm left in a headboard drawer before fleeing the scene. A murder case has been opened and officers say the father may also face charges for failing to secure the weapon.
