An 18-year-old from Krugersdorp has been awarded five matric distinctions, his school confirmed this week, as his family continues to await answers after his disappearance off the Mozambique coast.

Rikus Kylander went missing while snorkelling at Ponta do Ouro Beach on 18 December during a matric holiday. A multi-agency search lasting 22 days was conducted across sea, land, and air before being formally called off.
