Former Greenacres Doctor Charged With Rape And Sexual Assault

A former Greenacres Hospital specialist has appeared in the Gqeberha Magistrates Court, Eastern Cape, on rape and sexual assault charges linked to multiple former patients. Dr Gregory Hough, 53, handed himself over to police and is accused of assaulting women during consultations in his Greenacres rooms in 2010 and 2020.

The case follows a lengthy investigation by the Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences unit, with at least five complainants coming forward. Hough has been released on R5 000 bail and is due back in court on 10 February 2026. The Health Professions Council has already suspended him amid related disciplinary action.
