Johannesburg will enforce a hard security lockdown around the Nasrec Expo Centre and FNB Stadium as South Africa hosts the G20 Leaders Summit. Only accredited delegates will be allowed inside the restricted zone from 21 to 24 November, with all vehicles subject to intensive searches as part of tightened protection measures.

National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure emphasised that the lockdown is a security operation rather than a public health restriction. Major road closures are expected on the N1, N3, N12, R21, R24, and M1, while designated protest areas will be available under strict conditions as authorities brace for global leaders’ arrival.
