The International Olympic Committee says it will make a final call on transgender athletes’ eligibility for the Olympic Games after completing a new review process led by its executive leadership.

For now, existing rules remain in place while consultations continue, with the IOC aiming to settle the issue well ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics amid mounting pressure for a single global standard.
