A man has been arrested in Mpumalanga for the alleged murder of his two-year-old niece after the child was found with fatal injuries and later died in hospital.

South African Police Service said the suspect, believed to be the child’s uncle, was taken into custody following preliminary investigations. He is expected to appear in court soon.
