Manhunt for Van der Merwe Killers Expands Across Gauteng

Police have widened the search for the gunmen who assassinated whistle-blower Marius Vlam van der Merwe outside his Brakpan home last week. Investigators have identified several persons of interest and are analysing CCTV footage as they pursue what they describe as strong, active leads.

Van der Merwe, known as Witness D for his testimony on alleged police corruption and illegal mining networks, was shot in front of his family. His killing has intensified public pressure for stronger whistle-blower protections and accountability in law enforcement.
