Today the Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, said South Africa is fully prepared to host the G20 Leaders Summit at Nasrec next week, noting that more than one hundred preparatory meetings have been completed across all provinces and that safety and logistics plans are in place. She confirmed that President Cyril Ramaphosa will inspect the venue on Friday.
She added that the United States boycott will not disrupt proceedings and that South Africa’s role in the G20 troika remains secure. Government also stressed that relations with the United States continue on a separate bilateral track, with ongoing trade and AGOA discussions unaffected by the G20 decision.
