Julius Mkhwanazi, suspended deputy chief of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police, stated he could not go to jail for something he did not do amid ongoing allegations of misconduct. Testifying at the Madlanga Commission, Mkhwanazi denied accepting bribes from alleged criminal figure Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala and rejected claims he authorized illegal vehicle modifications. He insisted he was not involved in any cover-up.
