Seventeen South African men have claimed they were deceived into fighting for Russia in the war in Ukraine. The MK Party (MKP) allegedly charged R20 000 for a "one-way ticket" to war, promising bodyguard training. The men were instead sent to combat in Donbas. The South African government has launched an investigation and is seeking their return.
