North West agriculture officials have opened the 2025 to 2026 planting season in Dwarskraal, Delareyville as part of a renewed push to expand provincial crop output. The Crop Massification Programme aims to bring 6 000 hectares of idle land back into use, with maize and sugar beans among the focus crops.

More than R23 million has been allocated to support about 50 farmers in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District, with capital Mafikeng, providing seed, fertiliser and mechanisation. The initiative is intended to strengthen food security and boost agricultural production across the province.
