OR Tambo International Airport has stepped up security as world leaders arrive for the G20 summit, with Airports Company South Afirca deploying extra aviation security staff and a tactical response unit across key areas of the airport. Access roads have also been rerouted, and travellers are being urged to allow additional time when moving through the precinct.

The airport remains operational, though recent power faults and infrastructure strain have raised concerns about possible disruptions during the summit window. Officials insist contingency plans are in place to keep flights running smoothly and ensure the safety of delegates and passengers.
