The City of Tshwane says it collected more than R4 billion in October 2025, marking its highest-ever monthly revenue. Officials called it a “record month” driven by improved debt recovery, stricter enforcement, and better billing systems.

However, the metro faces possible pressure from a pending court ruling on its controversial cleansing levy, which opposition parties warn could impact future municipal income.
