Bevan van Druten is due in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with the murder of former detective Anneke “Nicky” van Heerden. She was found dead near the Keurbooms River dunes on 18 January, with prosecutors expected to oppose bail.

Police say Van Druten handed himself over last week after officers responded to reports of a woman screaming and later found Van Heerden’s body near a vehicle linked to the accused. The case is being investigated by the SAPS.
