In this clip Richard Tren, Frans Cronje, and James Myburgh discuss the link between left-wing groups financing right-wing extremists and the rise in violence on the political left in America. Richard provides the context on how the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC, a well-known American civil rights advocacy group) was caught providing funds to many different right-wing extremist groups, including the Ku Klux Klan. Frans then discusses how groups such as the SPLC have provided the framework to make violence, such as what happened with Charlie Kirk and the multiple assassination attempts on President Trump, permissible. James then explains that the route of these types of intelligence operations can be found in the Soviet Union, where the Bolsheviks implanted extremists into their rival faction as a means to initially discredit and then control those rival groups and how that strategy has become standard operating procedure for international intelligence agencies. Frans ends by discussing how much of an effect the propaganda has had on perceptions of race relations in the United States and across the world.
