Ramaphosa’s value came from the belief that he was a credible reformer after Zuma. That belief is now largely gone. His delay tactics look like Zuma’s. The ANC has already lost 17 percentage points of support under Ramaphosa. At its peak the party held nearly 70% of the vote. Some senior ANC voices now see a path to 25%. The Common Sense will soon release the first public numbers on how South Africans view Phala Phala and whether Ramaphosa should step down.
