BMA Disrupts Suspected Human Trafficking at OR Tambo

Border Management Authority officials have disrupted a suspected human trafficking operation at OR Tambo International Airport after intercepting 30 foreign nationals during routine border checks.

The group, including Ethiopian and Bangladeshi nationals, was flagged through advance passenger screening and found with irregular travel behaviour and fraudulent visas. The individuals were detained for further investigation and the case handed to law enforcement.
