Philanthropist and businessman Crispin Sonn has been charged after a violent parking lot confrontation in Sea Point was captured on video. Footage shows Sonn punching Alexandre Fernandes during a dispute before a wider scuffle broke out and was halted by security.

Sonn was arrested and faces an assault case. His attorney says he intends to lay counter charges. The incident occurred days after the death of his father, former ambassador to the US Franklin Sonn.
