The Hawks say former Standard Bank IT operator Vivian Brink, 60, has been charged with theft and fraud after allegedly manipulating his personal account by increasing an overdraft for his own benefit, causing losses of more than R1.9 million.

Brink was arrested earlier this week and appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court the next day. He was granted R5,000 bail and the case was postponed to next month.
