SANDF Aircrews Rescue Nearly 500 People as Mozambique Battles Severe Flooding

The SANDF says South African Air Force aircrews have rescued 479 people from flood-hit areas in Mozambique, using helicopters to reach isolated communities and airlift stranded residents to safety as conditions worsen.

The operation forms part of Operation CHARIOT. The SANDF says aircraft are working alongside Mozambican emergency services, with additional assets deployed to support ongoing rescue and relief efforts.
