NSW Health has issued an alert after four unrelated people tested positive for Legionnaires’ disease after spending time in Sydney’s CBD, around Clarence Street and the Wynyard area, between 9 and 18 December 2025.

Health officials say investigations into potential sources are under way, noting the bacteria can spread via aerosolised water from contaminated cooling towers and is not spread person to person. Reports say all four patients were hospitalised.
