The United Kingdom has begun enforcing a ban on junk food advertising on daytime television and paid online platforms, targeting products high in fat, salt, and sugar. The measures form part of a wider effort to reduce childhood obesity.

The rules restrict TV adverts before the 9pm watershed and prohibit paid digital advertising at all times. Ministers say the policy is designed to limit children’s exposure to unhealthy food marketing.
